Competition notes for all competitions

For all Competitions, Medals and Trophy Competitions the following rules apply. If you are playing to get a handicap please scroll to the bottom of the page.

ELIGIBILITY

Competitors must have a WHS Handicap Index of 54 or below.

SIGNING IN

You MUST sign in for this competition using the PSI terminal, or via the Todays Golf function in the Howdidido app or ClubV1 Members Hub app.

SCORE ENTRY

You MUST enter your scores via PSI or via the Todays Golf function before leaving the club. Failure to do so may result in suspension from future events.

SCORECARDS

Please add your Starting time and Finishing time to the scorecard.

Scorecards MUST be completed in accordance with the Scorecard Procedures and placed in the box provided.

Saturday Medal Competitions

FORMAT

An individual qualifying competition of 95% of course handicap, White tees, Max 54 handicap index.

Played in 3 Divisions:
Division 1 - Playing handicaps 0-13
Division 2 -Playing handicaps 14-20
Division 3 – Playing Handicaps 21- 54

PRIZES:

Prizes for first 2 places in each division, plus lowest gross overall.

ENTRY FEES:

Mid Week Medal Competitions

FORMAT

An individual qualifying competition of 95% of course handicap, White tees, Max 54 handicap index.

Played in 2 Divisions:
Division 1 - Playing handicaps 0-19
Division 2 -Playing handicaps 20-54

Other Competitions

FORMAT:

3 Ball Texas Scramble stroke play competition, played off White Tees (no 2 ball teams allowed)

HANDICAP ALLOWANCE for 3 Ball Texas Scramble

30% Lowest Course Handicap + 20% Middle Course Handicap + 10% Highest Course Handicap

TEXAS SCRAMBLE RULES

Each player to record a minimum 5 drives each and these must be recorded on the scorecard.

Each player plays from the teeing area on each hole, one of the tee shots is selected and all the players play their second shots from that spot. One of the second shots is then selected, and all players play their third shots from that spot, and so on until the ball is holed.

The selected ball must be played as it lies. Remaining team members shots must be placed within 6 inches of the original ball if on the fairway and dropped within one club length if in the rough.

You MUST add the following information to the scorecard before posting in the box provided.

Handicap Index, Course Handicap, Strokes Received for each player
The Team handicap (to one decimal place)
Gross scores and a record of whose drives were taken on each hole.
The date, Start and Finishing times.

This competition is open to ALL Members; Men, Ladies, Seniors and Flexible members who have a WHS handicap index.

FORMAT
Individual Stableford played in 1 Division.

Men - Yellow Tees
Ladies - Red Tees

PRIZES FOR THE FIRST FIVE PLACES
Member's Council Trophy awarded to the player with the highest number of Stableford points
In the event of a tie, normal countback procedures will be used.

Entry Fee £4 plus optional £1 for 2's sweep. Fees payable via Gold Card, please ensure you have sufficient funds on your card. You can top-up, if necessary, in the pro-shop.

All proceeds from the competition fees, net of prize money and 2's to be split equally between the Captain and Lady Captain's charities.

ELIGIBILITY:

FORMAT:

The format of this 36-hole competition is individual strokeplay with the lowest gross scoring member being crowned Club Champion on Sunday. There is also a concurrent 36 hole net competition with the lowest net score over 36 holes collecting the Net Club Champion trophy.

There is also a separate strokeplay (medal) competition running on Saturday only, Played in 3 Divisions, Division 1 - Playing handicaps 0-13, Division 2 -Playing handicaps 14-20, Division 3 – Playing Handicaps 21 – 59 Prizes for first 2 places in each division

Allowances: Nil for the Gross competition.

95% of playing handicap for the Net competition. (and Saturday Strokeplay competition)

PRIZES:

Gross Compeition: Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd

Net Competition: Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd

Medal (Day one): Prizes for 1st, 2nd (in each of the 3 divisions)

ENTRY FEES:

Saturday £4 (plus option £1 for 2’s, plus £1 NTP’s on all par 3’s) Fee includes entry to Day 1 Club Championships and Saturday Strokeplay competition. (Mandatory for all participants)

Sunday £3 (plus option £1 for 2’s plus £1 NTP 9th only)

ELIGIBILITY:

The competition is open to all members. (No prequalification is required for this event)

A registration desk will be in operation for those who need any assistance with signing in or calculating your handicap.

FORMAT:

An individual Stableford competition off 95% of full handicap, Yellow tees for Men and Red tees for Ladies, Max 54 handicap. 

PRIZES:

Prizes for first 4 places. Plus, prizes for best placed Lady and best placed Senior (if not placed in the first 4 places) Nearest the Pin prizes (9th & 14th), a 2’s sweep and a donation to the British Lung Foundation.

All monies, net of prizes, will go to the British Lung Foundation, a charity close to the Coates family. Raffle tickets will also be on sale at the registration desk.

PLAYING FOR A HANDICAP?

Non Trophy Stablefords, Invitation Day, Ken Coates

You may play in these competitions in order to submit a card counting towards your WHS handicap, however you will not be eligible for prizes and no competition fee will be taken. You MUST declare that you are playing for a new handicap to the Pro shop before playing.

A competitor will mark your card. You should not mark a competitor’s card.
